Last spring Kale did a complete renovation of our 30 year old kitchen.  This involved an entire gut of the space and rebuild from the floor up.  Kale did meticulous work and the job proceeded quickly and on budget.  There were no delays even with his sub trades.  Kale takes great care in everything he does and has the knowledge to plan so that everything ends up perfect.  Our new kitchen is outstanding.  We highly recommend him.

My wife and I first contracted Kale to rebuild our back deck. The deck needed to be completely rebuilt. Kale explained to us how to properly construct a deck that would last twenty years and worked collaboratively with us on the design. We are very happy with our cedar deck that includes louvres on the side to adjust for sun and wind. Kale is a meticulous craftsman and the construction of the deck showcases his attention to detail. Deck screws are perfectly lined up and all the wood cuts were precise.

Once the deck project was complete, we contracted Kale for a much larger project: the conversion of our attached garage and utility room into 700 square feet of additional indoor living space. Kale created a plan with a budget and an estimated completion schedule. The project was both under-budget and on time and we are extremely happy with the results.

The construction and design of the new addition demonstrated the same attention to detail and craftsmanship seen in the deck. For example, Kale used three lasers to ensure that the wood framing built on the sloping garage floor was perfectly level. After a discussion with us on how we were planning on using the space Kale reinforced the joists as required.

Kale takes a different approach to most builders on design. The project starts with blueprints on where the main structural components such as weight bearing walls, electrical components, etc.  need to be built or adjusted. Once the main construction is complete, we worked with Kale to determine the location of the finishing details such as new windows, cabinets, doors, etc. In our opinion this approach works better than attempting to nail every detail down at the beginning of the project.

We are contracting Kale again for our remaining renovation project in the Spring.
